CSC is pleased to bring you specialized surf retreats in SW Costa Rica at our property Rancho Diandrew!!!

These retreats are aimed to boost your surfing skills in a relatively short amount of time by logging multiple hours in the water per day with expert coaching in and out of the water, including video analysis of your sessions. Each student will develop specific goals for each session from popping quicker to being more aggressive to learning how to pump and turn. Retreats also include: seminars on wave judgment, swell forecasting, body positioning, trim technique, paddling form, body surfing and body boarding at low tide (to learn how to ride the barrel), waterfall tours, and cave swimming adventures. ALL ABILITY LEVELS ARE WELCOME!!!

Accommodations: Rancho Diandrew is situated in direct proximity to a variety of great surfing spots. We will adapt a flexible approach to each day's surfing destination(s), picking the spot(s) that works best for reasons to do with tide, swell, weather, and crowds. RDA has 2 cabins that sleep up to 2 guests apiece these are perfect for couples and small families. There is also a spacious 3 bdrm house with an outdoor hammock and yoga deck. We have additional access to two 1 bedroom units that are located just across the road from our property. The land is perched on a mountain, overlooking the famous Whale's Tail of Uvita (Bahia Ballena). Cabins and house feature breathtaking jungle and ocean views. There is also super fast wifi, a washer/dryer, and a ping pong table. Additionally you will pay witness to the vast jungle wildlife including tropical birds, butterflies, and monkeys. For larger groups we have access to various houses and properties nearby.

Rancho Diandrew has excellent reviews on TripAdvisor. Check them out: here.

Equipment: CSC + RDA provides wave riding tools including boards, leashes, and wax. We have a variety of boards to choose from. You are welcome and encouraged to bring your own equipment, especially if you have a board you're trying to dial in. If you do choose to bring a board please let us know in advance and we will help you organize alternate travel, as the planes that fly to Quepos Airport, where we pick people up, are very strict with baggage rules. You should be fine if you're bringing a board under 6'6", but Sansa and Nature Air do not allow longboards of any sort, and these are usually better for beginning to intermediate surfers. For those bringing boards we will arrange a shared shuttle for you from San Jose to Dominical or Uvita and we'll pick you up from there. Also be aware that if you do decide to bring you own equipment that the airlines that you take down to Costa Rica will charge you extra to bring your boards. Some charge by the bag and some charge by the board. Factor this when booking your ticket. Sometimes an airline with a more expensive ticket will have a less expensive board policy and vice versa.

Food: If there is one thing that RDA is more famous for than its views and impeccable hospitality, it is the food. Consistent 4 star reviews on TripAdvisor rave about RDA's wonderfully prepared and presented dishes. All meals are well balanced and popping with freshness. Meat or fish will be served at dinner, and all meals can be made vegetarian or vegan. A sample day: coffee, fruit, and toast for breakfast, kale and mango salad for lunch, grilled pork chops, steamed rice, and sautéed vegetabes for dinner. All food at the camp is included, food in town and on the road is not. Please notify us of any preferences, allergies, or health issues at time of booking.

Sample Itinerary:

Day 1:  Travel day. Fly into Juan Santamaria Int'l Airport (SJO). If you're not traveling with boards, catch another flight to Quepos Airport (XQP) on either Sansa or Nature Air (the only two airlines that provide this service). If you do have boards, travel to Uvita or Dominical via shared shuttle (we also help you arrange this). We will pick you up from Quepos Airport or downtown Dominical/Uvita in the afternoon and head up to Rancho Diandrew.
