CSC is pleased to bring you specialized surf retreats in SW Costa Rica at our property Rancho Diandrew!!!
These retreats are aimed to boost your surfing skills in a relatively short amount of time by logging multiple hours in the water per day with expert coaching in and out of the water, including video analysis of your sessions. Each student will develop specific goals for each session from popping quicker to being more aggressive to learning how to pump and turn. Retreats also include: seminars on wave judgment, swell forecasting, body positioning, trim technique, paddling form, body surfing and body boarding at low tide (to learn how to ride the barrel), waterfall tours, and cave swimming adventures. ALL ABILITY LEVELS ARE WELCOME!!!
2019 Dates and Pricing:
Intermediate Retreat — March 14-28 — $350 per day USD per person, minimum 5 days, max 6 ppl per day. This is the perfect trip to learn more advanced skills in surfing. If complete beginners are interested you are welcome to inquire. We can find sheltered locations as well. However advanced beginners and intermediates will get preference.
All Levels Retreat — April 26 - May 10 — $350 per day USD per person, minimum 5 days, max 6 ppl per day. Tons of swell and tons of surf spots to choose from on this trip. We just put this one on because there’s demand. So get in touch ASAP!
Make your own dates: We can book you for the entire duration of the retreat or you can come in and depart when it works for you, given your schedule. Can negotiate rates for travel days if you do not manage to get in a surf or a meal on those days.
What is included: Two meals a day, lodging, transportation to and from Quepos/Manuel Antonio Airport, transportation for duration of camp, surf equipment and personalized surf instruction with Dion and Andrew Mattison 2-3x a day for 7 days, videoed sessions, one waterfall tour. How to Book: Please email us at email@example.com to book your retreat and arrange payment. We can help you find flights and arrange for your travel to Rancho Diandrew.

Equipment: CSC + RDA provides wave riding tools including boards, leashes, and wax. We have a variety of boards to choose from. You are welcome and encouraged to bring your own equipment, especially if you have a board you're trying to dial in. If you do choose to bring a board please let us know in advance and we will help you organize alternate travel, as the planes that fly to Quepos Airport, where we pick people up, are very strict with baggage rules. You should be fine if you're bringing a board under 6'6", but Sansa and Nature Air do not allow longboards of any sort, and these are usually better for beginning to intermediate surfers. For those bringing boards we will arrange a shared shuttle for you from San Jose to Dominical or Uvita and we'll pick you up from there. Also be aware that if you do decide to bring you own equipment that the airlines that you take down to Costa Rica will charge you extra to bring your boards. Some charge by the bag and some charge by the board. Factor this when booking your ticket. Sometimes an airline with a more expensive ticket will have a less expensive board policy and vice versa.
Food: If there is one thing that RDA is more famous for than its views and impeccable hospitality, it is the food. Consistent 4 star reviews on TripAdvisor rave about RDA's wonderfully prepared and presented dishes. All meals are well balanced and popping with freshness. Meat or fish will be served at dinner, and all meals can be made vegetarian or vegan. A sample day: coffee, fruit, and toast for breakfast, kale and mango salad for lunch, grilled pork chops, steamed rice, and sautéed vegetabes for dinner. All food at the camp is included, food in town and on the road is not. Please notify us of any preferences, allergies, or health issues at time of booking.
